Job Purpose:
To improve the controlling and management of costs, inventory, fixed assets, and all tax issues and enhance operational decision-making by preparing insightful, timely, accurate, and relevant reports.
Generic Duties:
- Plans, leads, organizes, staffs, & controls the department’s overall activities.
- Designs and implements procedures, systems, and tools to maximize departmental operating efficiency.
- Assesses risks by following industry trends to ensure profitability, company survival and provide solutions.
- Coaches, mentors, and develops employees through periodic performance evaluations and ongoing performance dialogue and feedback.
- Ensures adherence to company policies and procedures and undertakes disciplinary actions if the need arises.
Main Duties and responsibilities :
- Develops, implements, and monitors the Department’s strategic and operational plans
- Develops a deep understanding of business cost drivers to promote meaningful forecasts.
- Leads change projects to improve systems, processes, and outputs related to cost, inventory, tax, and fixed asset management.
- Develops and maintains metrics and tracking systems for major cost drivers.
- Oversees the integrity of inventory controls and accuracy of all categories of inventory.
- Develops and recommends policies and procedures regarding fixed asset management and ensures proper documentation for each step in the process.
- Oversees monthly cost of goods sold, purchase price variance, and manufacturing variance journal entries.
- Oversees daily/monthly stock count of all inventories and reviews/understands variances and timely resolves variance issues.
- Develops and checks a fixed asset inventory process, including recommendations for disposals of fixed assets, useful life assignment, and depreciation schedules.
- Monitors and maintains current inventory levels, ensuring quantities that appear in the system match what is available physically.
- Ensures proper management of slow-moving and obsolete stock.
- Actively tracks and monitors all fixed asset purchases, asset tagging, quarterly capitalization, and disposal.
- Manages fixed assets end to end; ensures all required purchasing documents (I.e., customs clearing documents, invoices, approval permits) are properly filled within finance; and ensures all new assets are properly tagged before use.
- Determines the company’s tax position and the applicability of taxable/non-taxable instruments.
- Follows up on compliance with tax and other regulatory requirements and guidelines and ensures timely and accurate payment of all tax, customs, and pension obligations to the concerned authorities.
- Manages random audits of fixed assets to ensure assets are not obsolete or lost.
- Performs other duties assigned by the immediate supervisor.

Education and Experience
- Advanced computer skills on MS Office, ERP accounting software, and databases.
- BA or MA in accounting, accounting and finance, management, business administration, or related fields.
